I re-opened this blog back in August with this little post about starting things. Since then, I've been sharing my digital experiments and thoughts about anything that fits this theme (e-commerce, marketing, apps, AI). I had zero expectations - I thought, even if no one reads these - I'll for sure learn something on the way.
I'm a "do" person, meaning I like to jump straight into doing rather than thinking about doing. That's why I'm a good self-starter but struggle to keep going after the initial "doing" phase. This blog has expanded my perspective by a lot. Often, while writing about something I was working on, I'd have these thoughts - "hey, let's rethink that" - and it resulted in more ideas. Not just here, but in life and at work.
I'm still positively surprised by the increasing interest in my posts. At the beginning, I was happy to see just a couple of people reading my newsletter/blog posts. Now, some posts are gaining 100 views each, which is really satisfying to see (although minimal likes, comments, or shares, but that's OK!).
The Digital Experiments of 2024
This year has been full of building and learning. Here are some highlights of what we explored together:
Magenda - A simple meeting timer that actually works (because sometimes the simplest solutions are the best ones). It was born from late-night coding and the universal frustration with meetings that never end on time.
Suggestions App - My first attempt at creating something useful with AI. It's not perfect, but it shows how AI can enhance our daily experiences without overwhelming us with complexity.
Public Chat - A nostalgic throwback to the old-school chat rooms, built with Ruby on Rails (which, by the way, rekindled my love for coding).
Lite-CRM Viewer - Born from an over-fixation moment, it turned into something actually useful for analyzing CRM data.
Beyond Just Building
But it wasn't just about creating apps. We discussed everything from why coding gives digital roles an edge to how AI is changing education. We even explored running a company with AI as co-CEO!
What's Next?
As we head into 2025, I've got some exciting ideas brewing. But I'd love to hear from you - what would you like to see more of? What digital experiments should we try next?
The best part of this journey hasn't been the view counts or the successful launches - it's been the conversations, the shared experiences, and the community we're building here. Even when experiments failed (like my Halloween app), they turned into learning opportunities we could all relate to.
Thank You!
Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you're a regular reader or just discovered this blog, your presence here means a lot. Here's to more building, learning, and occasionally breaking things together in 2025!
P.S. Have you noticed the snow on my website? Sometimes the best features are just for fun :D
